Talk about 'off the shelf' kranoi......

I rather favour the second shelf down, far right....think it's the pretty blue colour!

The enemy is less likely to get wind of an advance of cavalry, if the orders for march were passed from mouth to mouth rather than announced by voice of herald, or public notice. Xenophon

Do you know where the finds are from?
I was also wondering if the shoulder fitting from the linothorax (that is what it looks like) is Macedonian....?

No it s the 8-ray star of Apollo used as an amulet.
The Macedonian is 16-ray star.

Nice helmets indeed! I saw them from 10-inches far, this April!
Damn! I don't own yet a digital photo-camera, to post you SO INTERESTING photos from many museums I've been.
Hopefully, this August I'll have a digital camera... when I'll go a 9-days trip to ALL Sicily Ancient Hellenic city-states's areas!
I guess, I WILL take many interesting photos and I'll share them with you...
Great to having you around, dear "hoplite14gr"! A WELL-KNOWN person, to correcting all the non-Hellenes that LOVE Ancient Hellas, but they are confused in some issues... Indeed, this is the "Phivos'" 8-ray star, not the 16-ray of Macedon's Kingdom.
