Off the top of my head, the legion in the area in the late 2nd century is Legio XXX UV. The capricorn is also mentioned in connection with that legion (see the Ritterling article on legio XXXUV.

Robinson may have classified the Deurne helmet as a spangenhelm, but that's dead wrong - it's a ridge helmet, like the Berkasovo and Intercisa types.

Ok. Will be fixed.

I'd love to edit it myself, but please realise that I don't have the info for earlier helmets...

Could be useful to add photos not only of the real gear, and put photos of modern reconstructions?
Is an idea...

Hi César,
They would have to be 650*650 jpgs and more importantly they would have to be exact replicas of that specific helmet.
06-05-2006, 08:53 AM
EXACT REPLICAS
That's very dificult. I  have to make a "review" of our helmets and see how many "exact" are each one. Probably, it's interesting to make a database with the exact replicas but adding too the "very close" reproductions... adding some text explications.

Recently many new photos have been added to the helmet database. Some are for completely new additions, in other cases (Worms especially), new photos have replaced older ones.
