I've made'em myself.
AFAK there were found in Dura Europos 2 (or more) sets of rawhide lamellar upper leg protections.

Eeerh, The cuisse protections from Dura are, technically speaking, scale, not lamellar. Simon James explains it very convincingly on his Dura Final Report: Arms and Armour. (My copy being currently under an enormous pile of other books after pile-stocking the results of a shelf collapse several months ago... )

It\'s all an accident, an accident of hands. Mine, others, all without mind, from one extreme to another, but neither works nor will ever.

Haven't check it yet, but it's very light, like a summer jacket.

If you look at James' description of the cuisses (p.123) then it does seem to be true lamellar. He seems to think that just because the plates overlap downwards instead of upwards then it isn't lamellar. It looks a lot like some of the Chinese lamellar I've seen. In any case, just because some leather lamellar leg protection has been found doesn't automatically mean that leather lamellar body armour was also worn. IIRC no leather body armour was found at Dura Europos.
Here is the first part of James definition of lamellar: "Lamellar differs from scale in structure in that the small plates of which it consists are not dependent on attachment to a cloth backing, but are attached directly to each other." He should have stopped here. The direction of overlap is irrelevant as is whether the lacing is on the inside or outside.

For me it does! There are other accepted items in reconstruction that even have less (or none hock: ) archaeological evidence for that period, for example, attic helmets, muscle cuirasses, subarmalia... etc. (which I'm not against of  )

Yep. Very cool. What is the thickness of the lamellae? James reckons the originals were 3-5mm.

I started this thread as a possible source of a leather lamellar vendor to buy... at last I made it myself!
