It turns out that Leg II Aug is doing a big documentary production and not the movie which is already in the can. I am still looking forward seeing to both.

This is an excerpt from the article on the Boudicca Movie.

---
Boudicca came to power after the death of her husband Prasutagas, king of the Iceni tribe in what is now known as East Anglia. He agreed to be a client king of the Roman empire, which is rather like saying you would accept protection from Tony Soprano," said Davies.
---

This Davies guy compares making a client agreement with the roman empire as somewhat equivalent to making an agreement with the mafia character Tony Soprano. Any comments on this comparison?

I find it quite stupid. I fear it sets the tone for this production.
I would rather have fire storms of atmospheres than this cruel descent from a thousand years of dreams.
The Boudicca TV movie was on in the UK on Sunday. It was an absolute disgrace. They simply hadn't bothered, and, having looked forward to it for days, I just sat cringing for two hours watching supposed legionaries (dressed in black to represent the bad guys!) fighting at close quarters with what looked like native-indian spears, while small barbarian children crawled through their legs and tripped them up like something out of a 'Carry On' movie.

What a waste of money (and two hours of my life!).
Hello folks

Just to let you know the LEG II AVG involvement in a recent Boudica project had nothing to do with the recent TV film which has been hung, drawn and quartered on the other forum.

LEG II AVG was involved in some filming for a Buodica documentary which the BBC are doing but that's all.
We of the legio secunda augusta did not have anything to do with this movie. Thank goodness for that!

The documentary were involved in is to be shown as part of a series call Battlefield Britain in the summer of 2004.
