The forts and their Garrsions in Northern England prior to Hadrian's Wall
#1
Hi guys,

Does anyone have much information on the forts in place prior to Hadrian's Wall? I know there were a few used to control the area and the population but does anyone know who garrisoned and from what time period?

A good place to start is the article by David Breeze and Brian Dobson in Britannia vol. 16 (1985), which happens to be online here!
