Salvete,
I feel it is time for me to buy a helmet, I am thinking of getting the deepeeka Gallic g, it is cheap, and seems like a good choice for the Dacian war period I like. I have tried on the older deepeeka Gallic g, but I am unsure that the new model will fit. Any other recommendations of what might fit me for a late first early second slice fury helmet? I do plan on making a helmet crest, so one with a mount would be nice, thank you

If you're doing the Dacian Wars, I recommend the Deepeeka Italic G (Hebron).

SOTW and La Wren's Nest are your two best bets if you live in Maryland. They both sell it.
The Brigetio Gallic J is also a good choice:

I have looked at the italic g, and it is quite beautiful, but I am not quite sure it will fit, you can not mount a helmet crest, and I heard they were not made until the bar Kochba revolt in 132.

Charlie, the new Deepeeka helmet bowls are worse in shape in my opinion than the older ones. They are much too round (20 x 21 cm) when the older ones were more oval. ad:

Realism and looks is more important than comfort to me, as long as it fits the new ones are fine

Avoid the Italic G, it is dated much too late for the Dacian Wars. First off, what hat size is your head?
I portray a Dacian Wars legionary, and I use a Gallic G myself. However the Deepeeka Gallic F, H, I and the DSC Gallic J would all work as well as the Deepeeka Italic D.
I have a 23.25" head and I have comfortably worn the Gallic G, H and Italic D all comfortably. It is much too early for this period, but the Gallic A is quite large, and properly oval. Yes the Deepeeka helmets are more round than oval, but I don't see this as a horrible issue

By head size do you mean circumference? I need to go get a measuring tape

Northern Virginia, not old enough to get my license yet, I will have to see if my parents are willing to drive me, I think I am just going to get the deep weak Gallic g, the only set back is it seems everyone has one, and I want to be a little different. (Trust me I am not a hipster, I just kind of want a personalized kit, hopefully my helmet will have a badass crest at one point)

Well get one of the others. Gallic H, I, or J.
Deepeeka's new Gallic F's aren't that great IMO, I'd avoid them personally. The Gallic C (Sisak) might be a good choice.
Gallic I or J, IMO, is your best bet. Both right there on the border with the (later Roman province of) Dacia Apulensis. the road thru Partiscum.

I think I will settle with the g, if that is appropriate for the Dacian wars, I will just make an awesome crest. Anyway the g has such great reviews, so how could I settle for anything else?

The website Kult of Athena sells a lot of great stuff very competitively. I didn't see what you were looking for after a cursory check, but it's worth a look.

KOA undercuts all the US vendors with their prices, but they're not doing anything illegal AFAIK so really can't argue with that.

The Gallic G is a safe bet, an attractive helmet that covers the most popular reenactment period, (mid-First Century through early Second Century), and yes I did mean 'circumference' (whoops) lol. Yeah it is common, but it's not like you're going to be walking down the street with it and bump into someone else with one,
