Last week-end the Cohors I Gallica attended to the XIIIth Mercaforvm Roman Festival at Calahorra (Roman Calagurris) Spain.
We had lots and public and fun, thought there wasn't space or safety enough as to shoot any of our catapults :roll:
The gladiators of Collegium Gladiatorium were also invited to the festival and it was really nice to meet Opifex in person!

I must say some of these late roman soldiers have prettier legs than us early Imperial lads :lol:

I love reenactment, but I would NEVER depilate my legs for it. :x

I missed it...but I´m reasonably well in the High Rhin. A lot of Baths here! :lol:

I just googled why Roman soldiers would remove leg hair and ended up unexpectedly in a dark, scary part of cyberspace hock: Can someone enlighten me here instead?!

I would imagine it was a hygine thing Kat, to stop creepy-crawlies getting a foothold....ticks, lice, and a few other little buggers that like to cling on to human hairs to make a home..... :evil: :x
