Just for the Hell of it, I remember reading speculation that the Etruscans may have been descendants of one of the various groups making up the Sea Peoples who rampaged through the Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean until they "came a cropper" in the Nile Delta at the hands of the Egyptians and were scattered. It is known that one of the groups, the Peleset, became the Biblical Philistines, for instance. I apologize, but I cannot remember the author nor the cite for the Etruscans, however.
