Yes there is evidence. A2 is based on the mosaic from Santa Maria Maggiore, Richborough 1 although this is a very fragmentary helmet and another helmet which I am sure Robert is familiar with as it comes from his part of the world. G3 is based on one from Bulgaria and I can send you details of that via your email.

An error! Never! Looks OK to me although it is at a difficult angle. I am more worried now about the brow band and cheek piece they seem to big (although the original is largely in bits, however it has until now passed scrutiny from all the leading late Roman helmet experts here on RAT and Raffaele's own eagle eye.

:lol: Well, my intense scrutiny was motivated by a sincere desire to have a replica of this helmet made for me. And I like the little chi-ro applique on your helmet. I know where to buy perfectly sized chi-ro to attach to my own crest. :wink: Did you base it on Constantine's coinage ? I remember there was controversy about whether it does indeed show a chi-ro on his helmet / diadem.
