Roman Tools, Hoards and Catalogues
Thought a thread on tools would be a good idea specifically dealing with large catalogues and specific hoards of tools from the Roman era.....

So to start:
An old Catalogue that contains drawings of "mostly Roman" tools although its likely some are medieval see page 257 on its fairly extensive... wood, leather and metal working tools as well as agriculture is covered...

"Catalogue illustré du Musée des antiquités nationales au château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye 1926"

Hoards that contain substantial numbers of tools:
"Late Roman tool finds from Celje, Gradišče at Zbelovska gora and Sv. Pavel above Vrtovin (Slovenia)"

"A Hoard of Late Roman Metalwork from Belokopitovo, Shumen district."

"Die spätrömischen Hortfunde von der Gora oberhalb von Polhov Gradec"

"Three metal-work hoards of the Roman period from southern Scotland"
Hopefully more will contribute

"And the four bare walls stand on the seashore. a wreck a skeleton a monument of that instability and vicissitude to which all things human are subject. Not a dwelling within sight, and the farm labourer, and curious traveller, are the only persons that ever visit the scene where once so many thousands were congregated." T.Lewin 1867
