This cohort strength of c.600 fits in well with your diagrams over in the Perge legion thread! If the Slab C truly does represent Vegetius' additions of Augustiales and Flaviales to a century, then many things fall into place, like a two-cohort vexillation morphing over time into a 1200 man independent legion.
