Who made the Republican murmillo helmet you posted? It appears to be a copy of the one in the Detroit Art Institute.
Primus, by the late Republic the leg armor seems to have been fully developed, but the manica covered only the forearm from hand to elbow. By the time of the Chieti relief it was up to mid-biceps and after that all the way to the shoulder, with a supporting strap.
Medusa can probably advise you about the tats. She has one on her back (I saved the pic to my gladiator file).
