Hanging straps on balteus?

I have seen photos of a supposed single 'apron strap' (desperately looking for a photo noew) that has overly domed studs? Or would you say that it is probably a horsegear fitting?

There are only two studded straps I can think of that you might mean – the Mainz one, that is only depicted in a woodcut in Alterthümer unser heidnischen Vorzeit 2 (not domed) and one from a 2nd/3rd-century cavalry harness set from Celles-les-Waremmes (domed).

There are also some other domed stud examples in your Military Apron article.

Figure 14,8–10? I know, I still worry about those. No proof they belong to an apron other than diameter and there is clearly an overlap between apron/cavalry harness in some cases. On much safer ground with the flat ones. My point that none of the London apron studs are domed remains true however.
