Thanks for the pictures, of course we know the variation and vibrancy with which the 5th century textiles and beyond are decorated. I think the debate here is trying to pinpoint dates when the design methodology changed from one style to another and can we push the dates back to earlier that the beginning of the 4th century? The pictures from the V&A are later - 5th to 8th century and are consistently labelled the same as full garments held elsewhere in UK museum collections. By this time, the decorative style in question was well established
