Anything is possible, I suppose. I wouldn't be surprised if some individuals did in fact journey that far. This was interesting:
So I guess this means that the trip from the East could have taken several generations.
If it is being published in the Journal of Roman Archaeology, it will be opened up to review by peers and we'll see if there are any dissenting opinions.
