Well, if you mean source material, Polybius is one of the best and most detailed, Vegetius wrote a treatise on the army at the end of the 4th century. It's detailed but not always dependable. Other specialist treatises were written by Arrian and Ps.Hyginus. Cassius Dio, Tacitus, Livy etc. contain plenty of bits of military history, but they're not always very detailed.<br>
