Maybe this interesting as well: Piranesis are not very expensive. I have often dreamed of collecting art; now paintings and sculpture or ancient art are almost impossible to pay, but seventeenth- and eighteenth-century prints are both elegant and affordable. I bought this one for 300,000 lire, which would now be 175 euro (adjusted for inflation). So if you are looking for a tasteful present for an art-loving friend who will recognize the artist, a present that is at the same time affordable, here's your chance.
