Quote:Lupus, it's some where in Adrianou in Plaka. I consider it as the first step to create my peltast kit. Actually I prefer something like an Euboian mercenary of the Peloponisian war, but that will have to wait a couple of years. The price alone for a chalkidic helmet is 400-500 euros. Oh well, pelta, javelins and a felt petasos are not that bad for starters.
Congratulations on your new falcata, Spyros! What a lovely sizigos you do have. Like mine, who bought me my first Viking sword and makes loads of my soft kit. I think you can get that type of falcata from Deepeeka -maybe the shop is an outlet for them. It would be great if you Greek chaps could get good kit at Greek prices.
Chalcidian helmets are expensive, here, too - £240 compared to £80-£100 for a Corinthian. I don't understand it. How does £80-£100 sound to you, based on Greek salaries?
P.S. It's possible to tablet-weave a baldric with a key pattern - I have a headband my friend made for me. It's not cheap, though. Why not make a leather baldric?
