This one still had a certain ring to it (although it's yet another version of the American Dream, H'Woods favorite plot), what more do you want? I don't hear much positive stuff about other such prequels, ''Spartacus' included.
Why not do a prequel of the series 'Rome' while we're at it?
Actually Robert, you'll find that I was in agreement with your sentiment when I wrote that Gladiator doesn't call for additional material to be brought forth. I just think that a prequel, while bland and predictable, at least wouldn't be as much of an embarrassment as the proposed sequel.
And since you mentioned it, a prequel season or two of Rome is something I'd totally watch.
