Roman-Lucanian Sausages

Rue is an abortifacient, but only in very large quantities. It is also quite bitter, so if you get near dangerous doses with a sausage you won't find anyone willing to eat them any more, anyway. Well-stocked herbalist stores should be able to sell it to you dried, at least in the UK. In Germany, it is a controlled substance for some reason and I don't know about the US. I got mine from www.baldwins.co.uk
Bay berries are rarely if at all for sale, at least where I live. Try getting branches of bay leaves from spice shops or delis in season, they often still carry berries (plus, you can strip and dry the bark for spice and use the wood for incense or smoking).
I'm trying to get hold of a mini bay tree for my windowsill. That may be the only option to get the real thing.
