Wax modeling and casting of our models!
#63
This is our new wax eagle which we intend to cast from brass.
As you can see I’ve tried to make the well known Thunders in eagle’s nails grip and I don’t know will you like the way it looks like?

They seem to me a little primitive now but I never did something like this before and I can tell you it’s not easy :-( ( so I guess I should present my self in better way next time!
Because this is the master model of the eagle I’ve modelated at the beginning and it was made from thick wax so I can shape it without problems but when I add the Thunders, weight of the model achieve 660 grams!
So I cut it on pieces and take the risk to make the wax walls very thin which may lead to complete failure since the casting process.
Now it weight 470gr so I guess the final model will weight about 5 kilos whish is not so bad for this attractive sizes of Roman’s Eagle Standard!
