These are family-oriented events. We've gone to a local Renfaire in full Roman kit. Folks loved the armor. Some kept calling us gladiators, but after we cruxified the first few they got the message. We justified our existence (as could the Spartan) by saying that we came from the classical past to check up on what they were doing with our art, culture, and trechnology since it had been ""re-born". Several years ago I saw a guy at King Richard's with a beautiful suit of Samurai armor. He told me he's gotten a lot of flak for being "out of period" when actually, he was one of the most period correct characters in sight, just a little ways from home.
