Could anyone recommend books about life in the Roman provinces of the Greek East? I’d prefer information about the first or second centuries AD. Specifically, I’m interested in government and administration, population, economics, family life… pretty much anything about civilian life in the eastern provinces under the early Empire.
So far I have Pliny’s letters, of course, and Strabo also has some good information scattered around his work. Any other suggestions?
