Oh, but I have no problems with posting pictures I have taken from musea, but this is a very well researched and expensive set of books. A pm with an abstract to clear a point is no problem, but the choice of posting typologies on the Internet is not for me but for herr Miks to decide.
Back to the point: Only the Mainz Hatern-C. type 7 is shorter then the Pompeii types (about 48 cm), all other Mainz typology blades are longer then the Pompeii. I do not know on what your claim the Mainz is a short, stocky sword shorter then the Pompeii is based, this is not shared by Miks. Both Mainz types Wederath and Hatern-C. (two types) have paralell cutting edges, no waisting, the Wederath can be misstaken for a large Klassisch Pompeii but for the point, which is a lot longer.
So Nero has a very interesting sword, still am interested where it came from.
