Ancient Scenes Illustration project
#20
Hello
While discussion this subject with a friend of mine, he told me that, in Greek art, some animals were painted as symbols, omens.
He said that lizards were painted as omen of imminent death in departure scenes.
He could not provide further evidence to this; can anyone please direct me to relevant data about this: the use of animals as symbols.
Frankly if this is true I would like to know what other animals were used, as opposite symbols (of good fortune), as I do not wish to transmit a bad “vibeâ€
