That's right John it was a hell of a world but now after so many years I'm like you, I've been helping to put together a Hippica Gymnasia where I have been reproducing the Straubing Chamfrons done 8 or was it 9. In the past I did the "Vindolanda" and the "Trimontium" pieces, infact these are displayed at these two sites. I had the wonderful advantage some years ago of holding both of the originals, indeed the only way to display these leather ones was to create horse heads which I did for my reproductions.
