Depending on how large you want to make yours, this item might be usable. It's about 3 inches in diameter. You can easily dremel the top part off and the butterfly shouldn't be too difficult to dislodge either. I use one of these on my LR baldric (mine has an eagle).

I'll have to take a look at that. I was thinking 6-12" diameter for the laurel/wreath would be easier to see.
