But probably there was'nt an universal method of supension, not in swords not in pugiones.
I have seen that in the tombstone of Flavoleius Cordus is possible to see a kind of lace between the disc and the pugio's rings:

I remember in other tombstone, that the pungio hangs from a baldric. It's from a signifer, i will search for it...
