Ruler, with semi circles at 3, 6, and 10 roman inches and a circle at 8.
The wood (to be examined) seems exotic; if so,
The ruler may have belonged to a carpenter from elsewhere in the empire
(8 and 10 inches are standard Roman plank sizes)
