Cornelius Nepos 100-24 BC Round
-
Diodorus Siculus 90 –27 BC Round or oval
They lived in the same era if i have Nepos correct.
He writes "Peltas symmetrous" In contradiction to what? Does he mean the peltes used in his era? Were there any pelts in his age that were assymetrical either used in the Roman army or in an army of their enemies?
The oval shape would offer better protection but i wouldn't call this shield symmetrical.I would call a round shield a symmetrical shield.
