Nepos
*exchanged peltae for the round ones (peltam pro parma fecit)
Diodoros
*made small oval ones (peltas summetrous)
oval in shape ('symmetrous' meaning symmetrical seemingly in contrast to both crescent-shaped and round shields).
I dont get it.The iphicratian pelte was round in Nepos account and Diodoros states it was oval meaning like this?

Confusing! At lest we know the ones the Sarissophoroi had were round.

We are gonna make Sarrisophoroi peltes and we can make for example 10 shield cores and if they were the same ,the iphicratian peltes and the sarissophoroi peltes we can make 5 from each.But if the Iphicratians had definitely oval shaped ones and not round then we have to make another cast to make the oval type shield.
The wording "peltas symmetrous" is the thing.
