I am referring to the fact that different kinds of elephants were used by the ancients for warfare depending on geographical availability and other factors. We know that Hannibal used the Barbary elephant and that the Seleucids and the Persians used Indian elephants. I am wondering what type of elephants Pyrrhus of Epirus used for his Italian adventure. Any input would be appreciated.
