.......except that all the other items of Hopla depicted on pottery have turned up in the archaeological record.......except ANY remains identifiable as coming from a Boeotian shield. ( crests, being organic, are not present in the record either)........so the existence of such a thing must be considered speculative, until if and when something does turn up hock: hock:
