What are the chances of independant developement of a generic type of sword in commuities which have no contact.
Trading & copying ? Its possible but is it probable over such an area that very differeent cultures would have taken it on without any serious change?
Its more likely that different societies would seek to set their own identities to set them apart from their immediate neighbours. People are just like that ... the romans adopted the Hispaninesis but apparently they did not adopt the hilt style, scabbard type or suspension system of that self same generic "Celtic" sword.
