I thought the consensus was that we agreed with the requirement to use our real names, but as for faces, well...

Well, I've updated my avatar, but it looks kind of grainy...

How do you compress a jpg? I just design software. I don't know how to use it!

Ezthumbnails ( http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs ) is very handy as well. Just set the size to 115*115 and make sure jpeg quality is set between 70-80.

Avete omnes,

Quote:BUT.. did we not agree to show our real faces?

... please not, don't create a new rule out of this. :? Firstly I really like some of the symbolic avatars and got used to them, like those (only as examples) of Primitivus, Spedius, Cornelius Quintus, Jasper, my own old one, and all the others. If somebody wants to remain facial anonym let him/her, if he/she wants to show his/her own face, he/she might add it to his/her signature, so as Faventianus did for example.

I did not think of it as a rule per se, but something we'de strive to do (especially Jasper if I recall correctly)..

Something different - are all Osprey-based avatars gone? I just came across the Arthurian one in the profile of P. Lilius Frugius Simius.

Yes, unless people downloaded them and uploaded them by themselves. That'd be hard to prevent, but the service we provided has been suspended.
