Primipilares, Praefecti Castrorum & Legati Legionis!
#16
Hi Jim,
I think Legio XX VV is still available, but with several members of the legion on the forum, that could change quickly. On the other hand, you have only 20 posts to go (boy, you dó post a lot  ), so remind me when you make LL.
Greets!

Mmmm... what about DUX VESONTICUM or VESONTUM (of the Vesontes)? How would it be in correct Latin?

Why are you a Praefectus Classis, then? Big Grin

Maybe I should be a Comes, for the Vesontes are a comitatensis... can a Dux command it? Or is it restricted to limitanei?

In case of doubt I could be a Praepositus. Big Grin

Even though Duces mostly seem to be in command of static fronts, that's not always the case. But the titles that you mention are unknown to me. Comites did not command single units, that's for a tribune.
But hey, you're not a mod, you can choose..

(sulking) and I still want to be a comes... [Image: sm_eerie.gif]

Ok, so I choose PRAEPOSITUS of the VESONTES. Is it correct?

Ave!

An additional rank which you may consider including could be legato Augusti pro-praetore, a Provincial governor.

I have no idea when you would initiate this rank, maybe after 1,000 posts?

Well, of course there are more ranks one could think of Jim, but the idea is to encourage new members to post. I think we can safely say that those who posted 500 times on this board, are on the whole caught, hook, line and sinker! They can strive for medals, karma and other things.
Greets!
