Status quo of the Imagebase
#76
Hi Mark,
You can leave the photoshopping to me if you want. Always do that anyway with all photos.
Greets
I can't see any spanish gravestone at your image data base. I don't know if you are only interested at the gravestone with a depiction of the soldier.

I give you this link and a photo of a gravestone from C(aius) AEBVTIVS VERECVNDVS, miles of the LEGIO VI. Perhaps the astral circle at the top is from a standart (?)
Hi Lucius,
Yeah, you're right, for now we are limiting the imagebase to depictions of soldiers and/or their equipment. That tombstone sure looks good, but I don't think that's part of a standard though, especially if you compare them to other depictions of standards.
Anyway, there are one or two tombstones from Spain that would qualify. If anyone happens to have a photo (not a scan!) of the tomb of the Voconii for instance, I'd be very pleased to insert it into the imagebase.
Greets
Is there an easy way to implement a link to a printer-friendly format for each record? It would be nice to cut out the title and left-most menu bars and make sure that all of the info in scroll windows with refs and transcription displays...

Been too long: several new tombstones added, some updated. Moreover, a new script for the popup window with the detail images has been included. This works for IE, Firefox and Opera. Seems not to be affected by popupblockers (but you never know).
Greets
Splendid! Thanks very much for that, Jasper!

One thing I noticed... IMB163 has a typo, 'wepaons'.

Edited by: Danno Ulpius at: 12/7/04 3:16 am

Big update to the imagebase with some new additions, some new photos for others. Includes the tombstone that was recently found in Cologne.
