I have been making a Vindolanda type sandal, the one with a solid strap across the instep, and found that it took me three fittings with the owner to get the angle of the strap right. Is there a trick to this?
I can see now why lace ups are so much easier to construct! I may convert my other pair of Vindolanda parts to a carbinata type (reuse the hobnailed sole however). Matt Amt has a good general pattern, but does anyone know of any others out there?
