PLRE Abbreviations
#1
Ave Civitas,

I am reading a copy of PLRE Vol II through an inter-library loan.
Some of the abbreviations confuse me.  I looked for a listing of abbreviations, but could find none that matched what I found.

An example is:
under Quaestores Sacri Palatii (west)
Alethius 1 ... ... L IV/E V
I am confused about the --[L IV/E V]-- part.  What do the letters represent and where can I find their definitions?  Is it possible that such abbreviations are included in Volume I ?
I don't have a copy of volume I.  How important are those abbreviations?

As always, thank you for your help.

It's the date - late 4th / early 5th (century).
