Quote:Byron is the one with the long lusciuos red hair Smile And the Taifali cavalry shield.

Byron, get a cloak/brooch plus a sword and you'll look good. Decorate the belt a bit more with propellor fittings and you'll look even better. Avoid the pull of dodgy pouches, and you'll get points for style.

Ahhh, feel of the wind in my hair......

I have the cloak, remember!
And broaches..... Smile
just deciding on what fittings for the belt, plus need to lengthen it a bit..or go for a totally different one and keep this one for soft dress. Still need the fittings tho'
The sword will be a trickier choice! :?

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Merlot in one hand, Cigar in the other; body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!

Yes...it does tend to make you walk very upright to avoid certain bulges!!

Nice pictures. The scuta emblem is impressive!

Hello, here are three of my new photos. One is of a legionary impression from ~AD75, the other two are of a military tribune from the same period. Oh, and although you can't really see it, I'm wearing my new subarmalis in the first photo. It is three layers of semi-felted wool in four layers of coarse linen, all hand-stitched, and wearing the armor is much more comfortable than with the old one.

One more thing - these photos were taken at my home, so please ignore the carpet and all. It is below -10°C outside now, so I didn't want to freeze out there

Excellent- and you can see the subarmalis in action in the first picture by the "sit" of the shoulder plates- which is iMHO how they should look.

Great impressions, Radka. They certainly look good. As I'm right you're using a Deepeeka 1st century spatha in your tribune impression. Any reason for using this instead of a normal gladius or a Parazonium?
