Augsburg II helmet
#1
I'd like to share with you the first reconstruction of Augsburg II helmet.

Still few things need to be done, but it's 90% ready.
Once it will be done 100% I will share new photos Smile

Interesting fact, the "S" on this helmet is twice bigger than on Budapest.

This helmet did not have a crest but we came to a conclusion that crest with feathers, with same repoussage will be great addidtion.

Of course there are steel plates under each brass plate.

The crest is a good idea in my opinion.

Looks very good, Damian. I like especially how the bowl and cheek pieces are in line, making the whole helmet very balanced.

And that's the thing. If lether work is badly made (flat) cheekguards will break inside making the whole shape of the bowl+cheek crooked.

On this photo I tried to show how cheekguard will look after proper leather work (when fleece in cheekguard is not flat but a bit raised/convex) so the cheekguard won't break inside but rather stay in a "egg" line with the bowl.

Love the helmet.

Also love the combination with that t-shirt. Wink
