Thought a thread on tools would be a good idea specifically dealing with large catalogues and specific hoards of tools from the Roman era.....

So to start:
An old Catalogue that contains drawings of "mostly Roman" tools although its likely some are medieval see page 257 on its fairly extensive... wood, leather and metal working tools as well as agriculture is covered...

Great idea, especially as I get deeper in to any single craft like woodworking. I think Vindolanda had a catalogue of tool finds, but I don't think I have the book which may be out of print.

Wolfgang Gaitzsch - Eiserne römische Werkzeuge, Teil 1 + 2. I haven't encountered a more comprehensive work on Roman tools.

Quite a lot of tools in:
Das Römerkastell Saalburg bei Homburg vor der Höhe, Jacobi 1897

Vol I text with many illustrations, Vol II Illustrations/tables, tools include wood, metal and leather etc
