Scabbard for a Vandal Sword
#1
I have laying around a Vandal sword for a long time. Now I like to make a decent scabbard for it. If I’m right, the blade is dated to the time of Stilicho – could anybody confirm this dating please?
What does a Vandal scabbard from this time would look like? I can’t find any info…… Or if I would make a roman scabbard for this Vandal sword – what would be an option too – what possibilities I would have?

Thank you very much for your help.

Sorry I can't help you, but that's a nice looking sword. I've long lamented the comparative lack of good Migration Era replica swords. did you make it?

I'm not sure if there are parallels, but perhaps it will point you in the right direction.

@ John
The blade is made by HELSTAFIR. I was lucky to get this blade a few years ago. The blacksmith unfortunately exist no longer for several years.
I thought long and hard about it convert it into a Roman sword for the 3rd century. For this I would have had to overwork the blade ...... But for this blade it would have been too bad.

@ Markus, Thank you for your help.
