RAT Conference: IMPORTANT VENUE CHANGE
#1
On Monday myself and John were contacted by the Black Swan to say that they wanted to charge us £100 for using the room. We are shocked and suprised that they have decided to do this, after we have made the booking and only 5 days before the conference.
We are very unimpressed by the unprofessionalism of the Pub.
Thus we have had to change location. But only into the center of York. Not such a bad move after all.

The Rat Conference will now take place upstairs in The Yorkshire Terrier Pub, on Stonegate.

It is in the centre of York and a stone's throw from the both Minister and the Yorkshire Museum.
Venue details here:

They can serve beer from 10am (when their licence starts) and soft drinks before that. They also do food.

At least, thanks to the efficiency of the Roman army, we are now sorted! Big Grin

Looking forward to meeting you all at the weekend.

How annoying, and unprofessional!

Thanks for the heads up, Amy.

How many people are coming to the conference, do you know?

I believe around 17-18 people have confirmed with forms etc.
But John will know the total amount!
And we may have one or two guests who we don't know are coming. Tongue

It is with great regret that I must announce here that for a mixture of personal and financial reasons I will now be unable to attend the conference and deliver my speech.

I had looked forward to meeting many of you and renewing my acquaintance with others, as well as outlining my thoughts on classifying pugiones and their parts and hearing with interest the speeches being given by the other, more esteemed, speakers. Sadly, that can no longer be the case.Cry

Perhaps I shall see some you at a future RAT conference.:???:

Take care Crispus and I hope things work out for you.

I have done little but ride, fight and dress up in armour for a few weeks now, and I am looking forward to a few days in "normal" clothing. We have around 18/19 people attending which is a good number, and I am looking forward to seeing you all. The weather is due to be wet, so pack a good coat.

Sorry to hear that too Crispvs, I've been waiting to hear you discuss pugiones in detail for years now!
Hope all is well for you in the long run and see you somewhere!

Have a good flight to all of you. We have 20 booked in for both days, but I expect 1 or 2 to have to drop out each day. This is more than we expected when we started planning the conference and all very postive.
