Translation:

To the shades of the departed, Aurelius Mucianus, apprentice of the lancers, of Legio II Parthica, in the century of the 9th pilus prior, who served 10 years and lived 30 years. Septimius the double-pay soldier of the same legion, in the century of the 8th pilus [prior] made this for his best comrade, for he was well-deserving

Thanks - someone posted elsewhere a photo of a different grave marker identified
as Aurelius Moucianus (legio II Parthica)

Anyone known anything about that one? It looks as if some detail of the shield could be seen on a better photo.

Are these 2 different people?

The image in John's link is a lot moredetailed that the one in the image base. Too bad it cannot be enlarged.

The one John posted has interesting details on it, which is probably why he is needing better resolution pictures, guys.
