I have not spent months gathering Hoplites from the four corners of the earth just to let
some Swedish pancake in a purloined panoply lop their lower limbs off!

False. I gave up. It’s easy to find a hundred cats in the neighborhood. But impossible to line them up and let their tail point straight to the same direction…

TPBM claims that the second name of the most famous east Roman is ‘Polanski’

Imagine a phalanx of 5 year olds -- even more difficult to organize than cats...

"TPBM loves singing in the rain in full 'armour' "

True! -- doing so tends to cover the sound of the rusted joints as I imitate Genus Kellius.

TPBM: submitted a script to CBS TV for a new 'reality' series -- Survivor: Ancient Rome.

And they were very obedient when I growled at them "Stay in ranks!!!".

They only failed once against parents
Guess they threatened to cut their allowance

I did enjoy witnessing Paul as a barking mad hoplomachoi!
The outcome of the other battles when the kiddies did win was not determined by the fact that they were superior to us; that one battle when Paul told us to run away (with the shields discarded!) in fear comes to mind. Smile
