This was a great event, even if the only moment it didn't pour water on us, was when these pictures were taken  . But then again, we learned to start a fire with soaked wood from a nearby forest in a terrible downpour.

Our group consists out of 20 persons (about 13 military), but at this event only 5 of us were wanted. But this meant the tents were less crowded
Quote:Cool pics, Jef Cool ! ...and on top of it all HELMETS THAT FIT Shocked !
Gratias, Jyrki. The helmets in view are, from left to right: a Gallic D, made by the wearer, a Coolus E from deepeeka, a Gallic H (with real enamel in the rivet cups), made for me by Dean Cunningham. This Gallic H is only 17cm wide, excellent for my head.

Jef,
Nice photos. I agree with Byron. You all seem to be having a fun Roman time.
What helmet are you sporting? Do you have a clsoer picture of it?

Thanks Paolo.
I'm wearing a gallic H, made by the skilled Dean Cunningham. I believe that before too long he will be making Roman helmets again.
Here are some close-ups. Forgive the funny face in the first picture, the sun was shining in my eyes and I was squiting to see something
I got rid of the mirror polish the helmet has in the pictures. Dean gave it the high polish you see in the pictures to ensure the helmet didn't rust during shipping. I also added two pictures of the enamelled rivet cups.
Vale,
Jef

Jef,
Awesome helmet. Yes I know about Dean. My friend had originally asked him to make the Gallic D but Dean declined since he needed to get his shop up and running.
I have been planning to ask him to make me the Italic D. Hopefully, as you said he will start up again.

At long last, I have my basic legionary kit together, with the exception of Maius' scutum. We were going to do a lot more this weekend, but the weather wouldn't cooperate.

You actually quite match my perception of what a roman soldier would look like.
Well done!
