Just wanna let you guys know there has started a group doing 500-800 AD here in Örnsköldsvik. Very cool espessially because there is a reconstructed village from 600 AD just 10 miles from here.

Sounds wondeful to me, Martin -- as a Vendel period reenactor (Sutton Hoo) myself I don't think that you can have too many groups from the time of garnets and gold! It is still a sadly neglected time.
Will you join them? It would be good to make contact. Paul

Hi Gaius, I'll let you into a little secret, some of my garnets are fake and most of my gold is plate! It is fun and we are much better looking than Vikings. Paul

The Sutton Hoo helm and those Valsgarde and Vendel style helms are just beautiful...!
I love that photo of the village with the sky giving the impression of flames amongst the trees...
