The Portable Antiquities Scheme should be able to date this. To find your nearest liaisons officer go to the PAS website and look for you County.

Typical buckle 1st century AD. Possible early second. In my digital collection I have a lot of very similar specimens, from many roman limes.
I have a feeling ,that it is photographed on the opposite side?

Yes, seems the backside of the buckle.

I think a front view of this buckle might show better its style however I have reservations about it being claimed as Roman.

It seems to me like a Roman buckle from 43 AD till about 120 AD. Compare it with the example in the attached document; it is undoubtedly Roman. Could you give me the link where you found it?

We had this here frequently. This forum is not here to help detectorists dating and identifying their finds. Go to a detectors forum.
