Hi all.
I have a slight problem, in that I need an article for my research.
Normally I would use the inter-library loan facilities, but at present these are running c.6 months in arrears, so if I ordered now I might get it in April next year!
I know this might be giving the game away, but here goes:
E. Burrell, 'A re-examination of why Stilicho abandoned his pursuit of Alaric in 397', Historia 53 (2004) 251-6.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Ian

Quote:Or you can get it direct from British Library - you'll pay for the service, but it should be fast: http://www.bl.uk/ Their article search facility is on there, but if it doesn't come up, it doesn't mean they don't have it. I work on ILLs in a government library, and they supply most of our articles. There are thousands of journals and of course not all the articles are indexed (probably depends if its been asked for before)
Your profile says you're in Yorkshire so you could visit the British Library at Boston Spa (nb, by public transport it's difficult). It's where they have a lot of their journals. You'd need to check with them beforehand if they have Historia stashed up there, but it's free to go to the Reading Room:

Good Grief! Thanks a lot for that: I didn't know the BL stored their journals in Yorkshire!!
You're right - it definitely IS worth getting in touch!
Have a laudes and thanks again!!
